Piper Avenue believes in the power of music — how it touches your soul. Whether playing their unique take on rock and roll classics you know and love or their own heart-felt originals, Piper Avenue always plays with passion. They want you to feel it how they feel it — deep down in your bones.
Piper Avenue was paved in Lansing, Michigan. After taking time off from playing shows and focusing on family, singer/guitarist/keyboardist Todd Anderson met drummer Rob Carpenter and lead guitarist Tim Hayes at IOU Art Studios and then recruited bassist Steven Haggerty. Grateful for the journey that led him to find like-minded folks with a deep-seated love for music and for the opportunity to once again share music with audiences across mid-Michigan, Todd proposed naming the band after the road that brought them together — Piper Avenue.
Steven and Rob set the foundation for the band, while Tim soars with his incendiary guitar solos. Todd’s soulful voice grabs your attention. Together, they deliver rock and roll with power and passion.
Piper Avenue cover songs are all tunes you know and love, including a wide range of classics from the Beatles, Van Morrison, Train, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Black Crowes, Green Day, and the Killers.
Piper Avenue released 10 songs in the fall of 2022 — available on Apple Music, Spotify, or wherever you get your music. The originals are inspired by the world as we see it today. In these especially contentious times, “Embrace the Gray” calls for humility and compassion. “When the Day is Over” was forged from the pandemic, extolling having someone to come home to as the world was spinning out of control. “Tried” is about caring for someone but not being able to rescue them. “Exile” is about when you feel like you no longer belong but know that you have more left to give.
Take a ride on Piper Avenue. You won’t regret it.
